#Corvette servo 700r4 install
It was rough getting the old shift gate off, but once done, install was fairly easy. Ordered the 4-speed shifter modification kit from Bowtie as well. Used a TCI vacuum operated lock-up switch. was hard to follow the some of the instructions (some pics were of the entirely wrong part) But good ole google squared me away. Got the "TV made EZ" kit from Bowtie Overdrives. The old cooler lines had to be spliced with new ones since I had to cut them to get the TH400 out. 82-92 V8 Tech - 700r4 Corvette servo + Shift kit - Hello again, Im i the middle of my 700r4 rebuild and Im not sure what route to take on whether or not to.
I found a Killer deal on a 700R4 that holds up to 450 HP more than what I need it for so this should. The other types are for cars and have a shorter Tail shaft. The 700R4 with an X on the side are truck Type case made thicker I read some where they have longer tail shat.

I had the drive shaft shortened by 2 1/2 inches, and I'm still kicking myself for not getting a quick release yoke for tail end of the tranny, because it was hell to put on without it. Corvette 700R4 has different tail housing and a V on the side of the case. The Sonnax super hold servo can be used as an upgrade from a stock Corvette servo or to add max holding power in extreme applications. I kept the factory cross-member, had to use the dremel again to make new mount holes, because even with the special tail housing, it mounts about an inch too far back to use the original holes. I went ahead and used the old transmission's rubber mount for the 700R4, which, with the special tail housing with the two areas for bolts, hooked right up after some attention on the mount from my dremel tool.
